BWCA
I was introduced to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and Wilderness when I was in my last year of high school. My childhood best friend invited me on her family's annual BWCA trip. At this point in my life, I probably slept in a sleeping bag only at sleepovers and may never had been in a tent unironically. I remember thinking that the BWCA was pretty cool, but I didn't know what role it would play in my future.

In 2022, Diggins and I skied across from west to east. This trip changed my life in ways that I still cannot articulate. I loved experiencing the beautiful quiet of the Boundary Waters.

This trip was supported by The Friends of the Boundary Waters. They are on the mission to protect the 1 million acre wilderness from mining and other extractive industries.

A short film came out of this trip called "A Voice for the Wild". A huge thank you to Jesse and Credo Nonfiction for making that film happen. The wilderness is only wild if we protect it and let it be.
